Field Trips
Programs

Bring your students to Children’s Storybook Garden & Museum for our local history and nature-based science field trip experiences filled with joy, exploration, discovery, and wonder! All our field trips are literature-based, hands-on, age-appropriate, and meet California State Standards or Next Generation Science Standards. Our programs take place mostly outside, and all classes have a literacy component.  Sampling of topics and explorations include literacy, farm history, gardening, composting, seeds, plants, harvesting, nutrition, tasting and cooking, bugs, pollinators, butterflies, worms, and using our senses.

Field trips may be scheduled with us all year long!  We have two sessions available each weekday, at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours. On Wednesdays, we schedule after-school programs for groups to accommodate local schools' early release schedule.

Gardens, pathways, and activities are accessible to all needs and abilities. All educational content for our field trips is created by California certified teachers.

For specific questions, please call us at (559) 500-9966 or 559-816-0464, you can also choose to complete the registration form below.

Field Trip & After-School Program Guidelines

  • Field trips can start at 10:00 a.m. and last for 1 &  1/2 hours  or/and  at 1:00 to  2:30 ish pm, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Field trips and student programs are only available for groups of 6 or more that register in advance. For smaller classes, please contact us for special arrangements and pricing.

  • Each class is $165.00. This includes admission for up to 25 students, one teacher, and one chaperone.

  • We can accommodate up to two same-grade classes at one time (for a total of 50 students). If you have a larger group, talk to us about accommodations.  We charge $6.00 for students over 25 per class.

  • Teachers, please communicate with parents that non-chaperone adults and children who are not in the class may not attend the field trip or after-school program.

  • Please note that we are a rain or shine field trip.   Please plan for the event of rain.  Students should bring rain jackets if the weather looks like it might rain. However, being outside in the gardens creates a much more enthralling learning experience for the students.

  • We will do our best to accommodate any special requests, when possible.

  • Currently, we have available days in April & May 2023.
